About Us

Wellness.
Formation.

Community.

Spiritus Dei Wellness Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing human flourishing in mind, body, and soul though a Catholic lens.

We accomplish this goal is two ways:

SDWC encourages individuals and family to live out heathy, meaningful, Christ-centered lives through educational programs, workshops, community initiatives, and mission-driven partnerships.

SDWC fosters a collaborative environment where mission-aligned wellness practitioners can thrive while serving others with excellence and compassion.

and said,

'Receive the Holy Spirit.'"

The name Spiritus Dei reflects Christ's gift of the Holy Spirit and His sending forth of those called to bring healing and hope.

A Vision
Takes Shape

Spiritus Dei Wellness Center began with a simple conviction: people flourish when they are supported in mind, body, and soul.

After experiencing pain at an early age, and serving individuals in the mental health field, founder Kimberly Rosenbeck-Rose recognized the need for a place where faith, wellness, and community could come together—rooted in the Catholic understanding of the human person.

As that vision grew, Judy Gelhaus and Carol Werling joined her in bringing Spiritus Dei to life, helping establish a place where independent professionals can flourish while serving the broader community with compassion, excellence, and purpose.

Today, Spiritus Dei continues to grow as a collaborative community of independent practitioners and wellness initiatives dedicated to supporting the whole person—mind, body, and soul.

Why Spiritus Dei?

Spiritus Dei (speer-EE-tooce DAY-ee) is Latin for "Spirit of God" or "Breath of God."

In the years leading up to the founding of the Center, founder Kimberly Rosenbeck-Rose experienced a recurring dream marked by an overwhelming sense of being completely known and completely loved. The experience reinforced a conviction that every person possesses inherent dignity and worth, regardless of strengths, weaknesses, successes, or failures.

As the vision for the Center began to take shape, Kimberly was drawn to the word Spiritus, but the name felt incomplete. During a conversation with the founder of Do Good Restaurant, the name Spiritus Dei emerged unexpectedly and immediately resonated, as though it had been gently placed there by the Holy Spirit.

The name recalls the Gospel of John: "Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.' And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" (John 20:21-22). Inspired by this image, Spiritus Dei Wellness Center seeks to foster healing, formation, community, and human flourishing while honoring the God-given dignity of every person.

Our Story

Kimberly Rosenbeck-Rose, Founder of SDWC

The vision for Spiritus Dei Wellness Center was born from a lifelong search to understand suffering, healing, and human flourishing.

Through both personal loss, academic study, and years of work in the mental health field, founder Kimberly Rosenbeck-Rose came to recognize a recurring truth: people flourish when they are supported in mind, body, and spirit and grounded in faith, community, meaning, and hope.

As that vision took shape, Kimberly invited Judy Gelhaus and Carol Werling to join her in establishing the nonprofit organization. Together, the founders created Spiritus Dei Wellness Center to promote wellness through faith-informed programs, community initiatives, and support for mission-aligned practitioners, drawing inspiration from the Catholic understanding of human dignity and flourishing.

Today, Spiritus Dei Wellness Center serves as a place where wellness, community, and spiritual formation come together in support of human flourishing.
