About the event
Why do we suffer, and how can we respond when life changes us in painful ways? This educational and supportive group will examine suffering from religious, philosophical, physical, and psychological perspectives.
Along with Catholic counselor Kimberly Rosenbeck-Rose, LPCC-S, we will consider its meaning, healthy ways of coping, new ways of thinking about difficult experiences, and the Catholic understanding of suffering and redemption.
Particular attention will be given to how suffering can draw us into a deeper connection with Christ without minimizing pain or offering simple answers.
Participants will not be asked to share the specific details of their experiences. This is an educational and faith-based support group, not therapy or a substitute for professional mental health care. Adults age 18 and older affected by any form of trauma, loss, hardship, or suffering are welcome.
